🏗️ Civil Construction Estimator - Earthworks & Basements

Location: Doncaster, Melbourne, Victorian Experience: 3-5+ Years End-to-End Estimating

The Opportunity

Randstad are partnering with a respected medium-sized civil contractor based in Doncaster, Melbourne seeking an experienced Civil Estimator.

Working closely with two hands-on directors of the business you will play a key role in pricing for Upper-tier commercial builder clients covering the following responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the entire tender process, from initial inquiry through to final submission and negotiation.

• Conduct detailed analysis of specifications, drawings, and tender documents.

• Specialist focus on estimating and pricing:

  • Bulk and Detailed Earthworks

  • Kerb and Channel works

  • Asphalting and Pavement construction

  • Basement Construction (excavation, retention, and structural elements)

  • Piling, Capping Beams, and Shotcrete works

• Secure and negotiate competitive quotes from subcontractors and suppliers.

• Prepare clear, comprehensive, and well-structured tender submissions and reports.

• Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Engineers, and the site team to ensure a seamless handover and project execution.

What You'll Bring

• A minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on, end-to-end estimating experience within the civil construction sector, specifically in Australia.

• Mandatory specialist experience in pricing complex basement retention systems (piling, capping beams, shotcrete) and large-scale earthworks packages.

• A relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

• Exceptional analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.

• Strong proficiency with estimating software (e.g., Buildsoft, Candy, MudPulse, MudShark, or similar).

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
